Parent Education Opportunities for Behavioral Health

Parent education programs focusing on prevention (early childhood behaviors, substance abuse, mental health, etc.) have been an ongoing point of discussion at various community meetings. This motivated a group of members from the Behavioral Health action team to meet and work on identifying parent education opportunities available in St. Mary’s County.

The identified opportunities provide parents with knowledge and skills to prevent substance abuse, mental illness, and other adverse childhood experiences in their families.  The work group is happy to provide, on request, several sets of materials on these opportunities free to the community with hopes of increasing awareness and participation.

Materials include a list of programs and supportive services along with contact information.
